Collection: Knives & Shears
A great selection of dive knives, shears and scissors for Diving & Outdoor Recreation. An important piece of gear for any diver. A scuba diving knife can be invaluable in case of entanglement in kelp or fishing line.
Knives are common tools that divers use for a variety of purposes. Divers may use knives to cut through ropes or other materials that may become tangled during a dive, or to cut through aquatic plants or vegetation that may obstruct their path. Shears may be used to cut through thicker materials, such as wire or plastic, that a knife may not be able to handle.
Dive knives are typically made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials to withstand the harsh conditions of the underwater environment. They may have a serrated edge for cutting through tougher materials, and some may also have a line-cutting notch for cutting through ropes and other fibers. Dive knives are often worn on a diver's leg or waist, in a sheath that is designed to be easily accessible while diving.
Dive shears are larger and more heavy-duty than knives, and are used for cutting through thicker materials that may be encountered during a dive. They may have a curved blade for better leverage, and may also have a line-cutting notch. Dive shears are often worn on a diver's waist or attached to a buoyancy control device (BCD) for easy access during a dive.
It is important for divers to use caution when handling knives and shears underwater, as they can be dangerous if used improperly. Divers should also be sure to maintain their knives and shears regularly, to ensure that they are in good working condition and ready for use when needed.
